Week 2 at Uni - Townies 100 club and Swim Carneval

yeah yeah - I know!!!

It's been too long again...
and I can see that you're punishing me for it by not commenting on my posts... =P

Well, at least it's only been three-four weeks now, and not more than that!

So not that much to catch up on - ah okey, stuff's happening all the time so I guess there's some things to catch up on =)

As you all now, I lived to see the end of my first week at Uni of Newy (and since I've already given away the fact that I lived to see my 23rd last saturday, week 2-4 went alright too), and now it's time to tell y'all 'bout week 2 =)

This was supposed to be Murder Week - well, it was, only I missed out on it... I thought I could tell them during the weekend that I was in, but they had already done the knives, so I was too late... For those of you who've never played the murder game, it's about you having a plastic knife, and a name of the person you're going to "kill" by touching the upper part of their body with the knife and saying 'You're dead' - and yeah, no one else can see this! Then it's not valid! And since it's a circle - everyone having a name etc, and the ones you kill you get to take over their names and murder on further =) but you still need to stay clear of the person that's after you!

So in a way I'm happy I missed out on Murder Week, it would've been impossible to live a normal life - fearing even going to the bathroom in case someones luring in the hallway! Always needing someone else to walk to class with in case someone tried to kill ya... But it also would've been heaps fun - but now all I could do was watch and scare everyone =D

I managed to work 18 hours this week at BotH (Bar on the Hill)... man! I'm going to murder those guys!!! I was completely wiped out... okey I made a fair bit of money, but hey - I had absolutely no life... So they actually made me hate that place.. Even though I'm only working five hours a week nowadays, I'm still finding it hard to motivate myself to go there... And the people I work with are 50-50, some good, some baaad...

So I'm really lucky to live on campus, 'cause that means that there's always funny stuff going on to distract you from the lesser things in life, like for example the Townies 100 Club!

The 100 Club is a fancy thang!
The main idea is to have 100 songs mixed to a cd or whatever - and everyone only plays for 60sec - and everytime the song's changing (ie every 60sec) you drink! So you drink a hundred times in a hundred minutes =) of course grandma, I'm talking about lemonade (no, I'm not...)...

And why is it called Townies 100 Club - well, because this Wednesday night it was held at Townies - my quarters! =D

Block 2 - my block! And my girls - Katie and Michelle =)

We also had some punch - hehe, not the one you drink, my hair's not flying that why from standing still... and we had some push-ups-competitions

Then we got lured into 930 - Ash was making pancakes =)
we all love her for that!!

And I don't know if it was the pancakes that night, or something else that happened a while back, but I suddenly found myself with a bun in my belly - I think it's a boy, and I'll name him Beckham! =) Don't let me down boy!

We, especially me, needed to burn some calories off after those amazing pancakes, so we went to the Green Room for some pingpong! And here they don't play it the ordinary way - oh no - here they go all the way! If you miss the table, you have to turn around and hope that the person behind you misses your back!... aie!

We got a bit bored, and bruised, after a while - so we sought out to find new adventures!

Yeah, I know, it's still the same night =)

One of the guys I hang out with, Brian, had gone into town with some other people after Townies - but the smartass as he is, at least he thought!, he'd left his keys with the other guys =) Just so he wouldn't lose them or anything... Hehe - we decided to have some fun with his room!

First we put every single thing upsidedown - and I mean everything;
clothes, chair, bed, shoes, phone, books, lamp, camera - all that we could move

But then we realised that it needed a bit of a kick!
So we toilet papered it as much as we could =) Check out the videos and the pics - especially you Brian!

It sure was heaps fun =) although I kinda wish I hadn't broken my toe on some of the stones walking to and from Brians...

It wasn't that bad - just looks like it... =) and it healed completely within three weeks =D

The rest of the week passed quietly, I had lectures (steered clear of the bitch this time), studied a fair bit, and had some quality time with myself =) lots of cheese, fruit and red wine, in front of YesMan and then Atlantis, on thursday. And friday we were a combined gang from 210 (just me), 830 and 510 who rented movies and bought way too many bags of crisps (chips, for all you swedish people)...

Saturday! Candy day!!

It sure was when I was growing up, and this saturday was no different =)
Went to the beach with Katie and Kim (haha! we can actually shorten that to Kat and Kim!!! hilarious if you know what I'm talking about..!), and then we took a trip to Beaumont St - via a small detour thanks to me... well everything's upside down in the southern hemisphere, so the maps might as well be...!

And there we had an ice cream revelation!!

Cold Rock - THE place to go to if you want all kind of weird stuff in your ice cream. Like mine here for example - chocolate mint ice cream, with mashed mars bar and sour worms!

Kims must've been the worst though - bubblegum ice cream with sour worms and gummy bears!!

sorry Katie, yours was a bit too normal - chocolate with snickers =)

We also took the time to visit Nauti & Nice, a cute little shop where you can find perfect gifts to everyone you know! Don't miss out!

Sunday - day of rest, as it was intended!

This is the IH pool - well, now it's only called the south pool I think, and Teds pool is called the north pool - hey wait, that can't be right - it sounds a little bit too cold for me.. Maybe it's just the east and west pool...

Anyway - it's got to do with the fact that the pools should be open to everyone living on campus, not only people from IH in the IH pool, or Teds in the Teds pool (Teds - Ted = short version for Edward = as in Edwards Hall).

Okey, that maybe rather pointless - but hell, I don't care - you're the ones that have to read through it =)

It sure was nice to relax out here - but this was the Swim Carneval Sunday - so the rest by the pool wasn't that long...

Swim Carneval - a competition between the campus housings - IH, Teds, Evatt and Bara, and even Ourimbah came up to participate (they're from down the central coast, you know, where I was supposed to study, but then a lot of exchange students made a huge deal about the isolation down there last year, so now they don't want any more international students at Ourimbah, so they choose to let me into the dietitian programme up in newy instead).

Unless you didn't notice - IH's colour is green!
and yeah, our mascot is a kangaroo =D

And here we've got some fine young men getting ready to get involved!
if only they could have turned round more... or maybe that would've been a bit too much to take, it might be better this way - now all we could see was eight fine guys at the time - might spare our hearts a bit ;)

And that lovely girl in red is Pru!! Go Pru!!!

That pretty much concludes week 2 - after the swim carneval (that IH performed really good in!) Katie and I had our own carneval in the IH/South pool. It was like being a kid again - diving, playing, standing on our hands =) heaps fun aye!!

Stay tuned for Week 3 and 4 - coming up next, on Blogspot.com!

Sweet 23 - you caught up with me!

Hey ho!

I'm old... apparently...

don't feel that old..

Although I had to dye my hair today (to cover up all the grey), so I guess I'm heading there...

Very well, over here it's not my birthday anymore - that ended 2.44hours ago, but luckily for me, it's still my very own special day back at home =D so I can celebrate until 9 o'clock this morning!

Hehe, this time difference thing really works out great - I get heaps more time to have fun =)

technically I should have until 10am, but Sweden changes into summertime tonight, so they'll just be 9hours ahead of us now - and it gets even more complicated, 'cause next Sunday we're changing into wintertime (yes! one more hour to sleep! no! darker evenings...) so then oz'll be 8h before la suède =) hehe, if we keep on going like this, we're bound to meet soon =D

I've had a great birthday!!

Thanks you guys for joining me at Indiana Raj for dinner - you made my day!!!

(would've been quite lonely otherwise)

We were 15 people invading Indiana Raj on Beaumont Street, for some lovely naan and spicy dishes =) Especially Aaron liked it - the spices really got to him =P

Here's the gang:

Kim, Libby, Annabel, Alex, Me (!), Trent, Wade, Pru, Daniel, Edwin, Aaron, Katie, Mark, Blaven and last but not least - Tom! =)

Don't we look lovely?!

Voilà me with the owner (sorry, never got your name), who we all think is very similar to Jeff Goldblum - at least if you stretch him out a little bit, then they're spot on!

Jeff Goldblum, you know, he's one of the guys in Jurassic Park (the tall, twitchy, dark haired Dr Ian Malcolm) and he's also been in Friends as producer Leonard Hayes - the guy that makes Joey wet himself - you remember?

--------

The food was amazing as well - just perfect! Curry like back in the old days (i.e. back in India), so we all ate and we ate and we ate... After a while we realised that we'd been there for over three hours, so we walk around for a while, awaiting the bus (saw some bogans - see pics), and sang Disney/Sound of Music/Cartoon -music on the way back! And once home, we managed to kill a couple more hours playing JungleSpeed and KingM-something (sorry sam, I don't remember the name of the game)...

(bogans!!)

Playing around on the bus - and singing the night away!

And now it's soon morning again - gosh, where does the time go?

But I have really enjoyed my day today - thank you again, all of you that sent me messages on facebook, hugged me in the courtyard, texted me and then hugged me again =)

huggy huggy huggy!

The last three weeks of courses have passed by sooo quickly, but I'll make sure that I'll update y'all of my adventures at IH (International House) here at Callaghan - there's plenty to tell, ye be warned! =)

Nighty night!!

anti wrinkle cream done!
teeth out and night hat on!

i'm geaddy fo bedd !
