Christchurch Mon-Tue 2-3 March

My trip with Magic was over - today I took the nakedbus to Christchurch, and no - it is not a bus where the driver and/or the passengers are naked - it's just a funny name =)

And I finally got my seat - the front seat with a full view of the gorgeous scenery right when the morning sun is rising, and sweet music is filling my ears. Thank's girls, for your music that evening in december - I listen to it all the time, thinking about you !

Especially Emelie V and Erika - thanks a lot! - sorry you other guys but you have no idea what it's like to swish along the roads of new zealand, sun's playing on your face, the most amazing landscape you've seen is out the window, and you're having LAU in your ears - it's filling you up like in a movie, only now the movie doesn't have a fixed ending, and your the lead!

So I thouroughly enjoyed the first half of this trip - dozing away from time to time, waking up to see the movie sill going on all around me, taking up the entire front seat (luxury!) - lots of food and legs taking up space..

We passed by Mount Cook (also called Aoraki, the highest mt in NZ - 3754 metres, 12316 ft) and a lot of LOTR-places - all perfectly accompanied by the music.

After lunch (had my first meat pie) things got downhill - the wind was getting stronger and clouds were gathering - hey! I don't have a skydive scheduled for today, so come on! - and I didn't get to keep the entire front seat. This neanderthal guy came and sat down on my food, or wait, that should've been netherland guy - so I had to turn myself into TableSpoonWoman (every swede knows this) to be able to fit with all my stuff, limbs etc.
Things could still have been pretty okey, if it hadn't been for the driver...

I slept a lot after lunch - when it's raining you can't really see that far and everything looks kinda depressing anyway - but after two-three hours of on-and-off-sleep I noticed that my head wasn't the only one dropping down from time to time to slumber away - so was the driver's!!!

Well my sleepienezz quickly disappeared - I bolted up and but the seatbelt on (first bus journey in NZ where I used the seatbelt, and this was the last one out of 27 bustrips...), and then I spent the last two hours constantely observing the driver to see whether he was conscious or not - prepared to scream out loud if he fell asleep...

I was very weary when we finally got in to Christchurch - nine hours on a bus, the last two spent in extrem tension to make sure that the entire bus survived the trip, was really exhausting...

So I fell asleep around eight that night - about an hour after I got to the hostel...

Tuesday:

Shopping!!!

Walked around ALL the souvenir shops in town to get the last bits and pieces of memories from NZ, and then I fell asleep on a bench by the river for about half an hour - guess I looked like a homeless wreck, but I don't care, I was tired! - so I brushed some leaves off me and tried to clear my head, before having some spiced carrot cake with Nicola, from couchsurfing. We talked for almost two hours, exchanging recipes and other cooking tips =)

Very well, that seems to conclude my trip around New Zealand,

...flying out tomorrow...

I had a blast!! - and I'm sure I'll come back sometime soon - there's still sooo much more to see!
(and me folks need to see everything as well!)

Take care NZ and every single one of all the amazing people I've met here - stay in touch! I'll be more than happy to welcome you all to Sweden - maybe not all at the same time, but you get the idea! ;)
