So that means that I've already spent one and a half month here at Callaghan!
shit...
soon time to go home...
I do think about Sweden at least three times a day - but it doesn't mean that I want to go back straight away, I really like it here =) and let's face it - who wouldn't?
Although this week was really stressful, and for a while I thought I was going to get the muscle cramps I had last semester again - and that would not be nice, kinda hard to get any work done what so ever when you can't even lift a pen... So I tried to steer clear of the natural reaction my body was giving me when it comes to stress and psycological overloading - and it worked! =)
I was studying as hell to try and have at least a chance of passing my first exam - in Clinical Exercise Physiology.
It did and didn't help much that there was a lot of distractions during the week;
such as the Study Abroad Fair on Monday;
here all the exchange students came together to organize a fair in promotion of their respective home universities - everything to raise awareness of their own countries and why everyone should come to THEIR town =)
It was kind of fun - mostly because I'd actually put a lot of effort into the representation of Gothenburg;
- I had a swedish flag
- I had a big bowl of fruit
- I had all the info Gothenburg sent down
- almost most important - I had a bowl of candy
- and most important, there was me! Dressed in blue and yellow as a true viking =)
I got a fair amount of names put down for information about Gothenburg Uni, but it wasn't as easy as I thought - people were really interested in our table (according to me, thanks to the candy and the flag) - but since I was sitting next to this girl from Lund, I had a hard time getting people interested in Gothenburg... Everyone had already heard about Lund (the *student city of all* in Sweden), or Karolinska in Stockholm - and some had never heard about Götet... So after a while of fighting to get most names, the Lund-chick and I worked out a nice system - we asked everyone to put their names down for both universities! That way, people interested in a certain program in Lund could discover that Gothenburg offers the same, or people wanting to come to Sweden could compare the two towns and make a more informed decision - we hope =)
'Right, the rest of Monday and Tuesday was spent trying to get as much information into my brain as possible regarding muscle soreness, bone mass, different types of muscle fibres etc..
There was still some time for dessert meeting with the Health Faculty on campus on tuesday night, and wednesday I didn't go to class - I tried to study a fair bit instead before my five hour shift at BotH -
oh my, that was the longest five hours in the history of time!
I really hate it... it's not fun at all...
I guess it's because I don't work enough - if I worked more I would get into it and learn everything faster, and cope better with all the questions from the customers... right now I think the thing I say most is "I don't know..." and that doesn't really make me feel good...
So all day long, all I could think was "I quit! I quit! I QUIT!!!"
but as usual, the last hour I always get to thinking - "ah, it's not too bad - and it's some extra cash every week" - 75dollars/450SEK to be more exact, and I can't really turn money down at the mo.. =) so many fun things to do/buy etc, so every cent/öre is more than welcome =)
Thursday - Total Body Workout at the Forum - gosh it good to move!! Soon I'm about to fuse together with my chair if I don't get my thumb out of my ass and get going to the gym more frequently..!
How did I let myself go like this??!?
It used to be four-five times a week, now I'm happy if it's one or two..
Well, it's never too late to get a grip!
(so that's why I've been putting it off I guess...)
Friday - today I started to see a small light bulb above my head, shining all so faintly about clinical exercise ph., so there's still hope for this exam! =)
Later friday - here's when the pics start coming again, 'cause now it's weekend =)
Rubix Cube Party!
The basic idea is for everyone to be dressed in all the six colours of a Rubix Cube - red, white, blue, yellow, orange and green - and the goal is to come home dressed in only one colour =)
So exchange students doesn't only get to change country, they also get to exchange clothes =)
This was me in the beginning of the evening, and some more people;
I've got an organge hair scarf, yellow earrings, red top, white shirt, green belt and a blue top that I'm using as a skirt (yeah, I'm pulling the sleeves out above)
So now all I had to do was to decide which colour to go for =)
I was choosing between red and white, 'cause I really like my top and my shirt =)
Pru had gotten me all the clothes at the op-shops in Wallsend - so the total outfit was for me to give away, unless I wanted to hold on to something in particular =)
People ended up with the most amazing outfits - and it was a real colour fest!
Soooo nice to get rid of all that black that everyone always wear when they go out - and I know, I'll probably wear black next weekend, but ... yeah, whatever - it's nice with some change from time to time =)
At midnight I got celebrated real good - 'cause now it was the 28th =D
They bought me another drink (I've now discovered 'Vodka lemon lime bitter', and it's not bad at all!) and sang, not happy birthday, but a nice little drinking song:
Here's to Emma, she's true blue,
She's a pissbutt through and through,
She's a bastard so they say -
she tried to go to heaven but she went the other way -
Drink it DOWN DOWN DOWN!!!
(and during that DOWN DOWN DOWN you're supposed to empty your drink...)
My apologies if I spelled something wrong, but normally I'm not really on top of things when that song's up.. =)
After some more dancing, we walked over to Mackers (McDo) - well at least some of us walked...
and had some nighty night-food
and discovered that Blaven's pants were inside out
he was just as surprised about the pants as we were to see him dressed as a crocodile
And the best part is that I'm getting some stuff back tomorrow - so I don't have to part with my red top =)
It's three in the morning, and there's a special dinner planned for tomorrow night =) so I'll better get tucked in and get some sleep,
the pics are up for my Birthday post as well - just so you know =)
